Door-knocking Campaign Begins

Posted on May 28, 2013 by admin in By-Election, Door-Knocking, News

Outlined below is the MANAHutt and Wainuiomata door knocking plan for the next month. If you have anytime to give during these hours on these days, we’d love some help.

Door knocking involves knocking on the doors of Maori on the Maori roll andgiving them Te Hamua’s pamphlet and asking if they’d consider voting for him.

We have door knock packsprepared that include a short script of what to say if you need it.

The general plan is to door knock on Saturdays and Sundays, between 10am-6pm,in the following areas:

  • 1, 2 & 3 June: (Queens Birthday weekend) Upper Hutt
  • 8 & 9 June: Lower Hutt – Stokes Valley and Pomare
  • 15-16 June: Lower Hutt – Taita and Naenae
  • 22 & 23 June: Wainuiomata

A base will be set up in each area for the weekend. Door knock packs can becollected from the base. If you’d like a run through of how to do doorknocking, we’d be happy to do this. Ideally it’s good to have a mate to doorknock with and you’ll need to wear comfortable shoes!

Confirmed plan for this weekend in Upper Hutt:

The base will be the Hapai Club, Fergusson Drive (opposite the RailwayStation). Packs can be collected from the base and completed sheets can bereturned between these hours:

  • – Saturday 10am-6pm
  • – Sunday 2pm-6pm
  • – Monday 10am-6pm

If you’ve got whanau whomight like to help, including whanau in the Hutt or Wainuiomata, please bringthem along too. We really want to win this and build on all the good work Honeis doing. Look forward to seeing you over the weekend.
