Boycott Talley’s campaign begins in earnest
Posted on May 9, 2012 by admin in Hone Harawira, Press Releases“And they’re being locked out because the $300 million Talley family want to bash the unions” said Harawira “and it seems they don’t care that 5,000 kids are being hurt by the lockout either”.
“But ordinary New Zealanders care what happens to the kids”.
“So I’m calling on as many people as possible to support the ‘TALLEY-BAN CAMPAIGN’ by boycotting Talley’s products until the company comes to their senses and lifts the lockout”.
Harawira said that a boycott would send a clear signal to Talley’s and AFFCO that New Zealanders wanted fairness and equality in wage bargaining “rather than the one-sided threats being made by the company”.
“Talley’s aren’t the only brands in the shelf” said Harawira “and all we want people to do is choose something other than Talley’s for now”.
Talley’s products include:
- Frozen vegetables (Talleys’ brand): Corn (cobs & kernel) spinach, frozen carrots, peas, broad and green beans, stir fry vegetables, mixed vegetables, potato fries
- Ice Cream Brands: Creme-de la Crème and Guilt Free
- Seafood (Talleys’ brand): Frozen fillets and processed fish products including battered, crumbed or breaded coating, seasoned products, and Talley’s marinated green-shell mussels.
