Vote for who you believe will best represent your interests

MANA Party candidate Annette Sykes says the Maori Party and Te Ururoa Flavell are telling Waiariki voters to give your electorate vote to him and to give your party vote to MANA.

“Our people need to think who will be the best candidate to represent their interests in Parliament – that is what their vote should be based on.

“Is it Te Ururoa who belongs to a party that supports National and ACT or is it Annette Sykes who will defend the rights of Maori in the face of the rich?

“There is an obvious choice that needs to be made, do you want a government of the left or of the right? If you are on the left, support me. If you are on the right, support Te Ururoa.

“I have been extremely humbled and buoyed by the amount of support that has been coming my way since I announced my candidacy a few weeks ago for MANA.

“Our people connect with what people like Hone Harawira stands for and for the policies MANA advocates. Our people are not rich with a bank balance of millions of dollars. Unfortunately most of our people are struggling to make ends meet and MANA wants to help our people get ahead in life.

“We are in the middle of a recession and so times are tough. With the Europe economy taking a turn for the worse, times are unfortunately going to get a lot tougher.

“Many voters have said to me that they feel that the Maori Party have compromised too much in their pursuit for power. It began with the foreshore and seabed and continued with a rise in GST and the 90 Day Probation Period Bill.

“Our people are now asking what’s in store after November the 26th when the Maori Party jump into bed with National and ACT.

“I think the Maori Party should do the honourable thing and declare their hand now regarding which major party they will support.

“They should also make it clear what their bottom lines are. I urge Waiariki voters to place their vote with the candidate who will best advocate for them in Parliament and who best represents their interests,” Annette Sykes says.
