Ngawairongoa Ngawai Herewini

Ngawairongoa [Ngawai] Herewini of Ngapuhi, Tuhoe and Tainui born in the Northland region, has lived and worked in the north for most of her life. Ngawai comes from a background of management she is currently the Manager of Te Hiku FM Radio and has had previous roles as Manager, chairperson of Matawaia Marae and Te Ataarangi ki Te Taitokerau, founder of Ngati Otara Te Kohanga Reo and Ngā Whare Watea Te Kohanga Reo, a contract holder with Te Puni Kokiri and Te Ataarangi.

Ngawai is passionate about the Mana Movement and all that it stands for. She is a mother and a grandmother.
