Let’s do the FEED before the weed
Posted on September 8, 2014 by admin in Hone Harawira, Press Releases“Last week I put out a very strongly worded email to my colleagues about an online promotion about cannabis law reform” said MANA leader and Tai Tokerau MP, Hone Harawira “and I stand by that criticism today.”
My concern was that time and design effort had obviously gone into the cannabis law reform promotion, while I hadn’t seen the same level of promotion for one of Internet MANA’s main campaign themes, ‘Feed the Kids’”.
“I’m very pleased that Internet Party leader Laila Harre independently came to the same conclusion as me and also asked for the campaign not to proceed.”
Harawira said his Feed the Kids bill was a comprehensive, government-funded breakfast and lunch programme in all decile 1-4 schools. “It’s live in parliament right now, it is supported by a number of parties already, and it could be passed in the first sitting of the new parliament”
“I am glad that my colleagues are now working on a strong and positive online campaign to support our Feed the Kids bill and I look forward to seeing that on-line after the launch of our Eliminating Poverty campaign tomorrow.”

Post Author September 9, 2014 at 1:12 amI was going to vote you guys, but now I’m not! The weed thing was the only thing I cared about, how can you be progressive if you can’t even do that! At least have a vote on it, don’t be silly, weed should be legal!

Post Author September 9, 2014 at 7:03 pmIt is about priorities.
Which is the most important.
We are a rich country – no one should go hungry.

Post Author September 9, 2014 at 11:06 pmSeriously, think about it, I don’t smoke it but the government could so benefit from cannabis. Less people in court meaning working people not paying for them which also includes paying for the people in prison, less people on benefits as they’ll have their own business so that means they will be paying tax in which case the government makes more to which they can help our children!!

Post Author September 12, 2014 at 4:05 pmI agree it is more important to feed kids… than legalize plant medicines…
but its better to do both and also take a swipe at the conservative alcohol and non-existent cigarette laws at the same time… that does incredibly more harm…
your a good helmsman Hone… keep it up…

Post Author September 15, 2014 at 9:40 amHone is not a good helmsman, he is only steering where Dotcom wants him to go. Hone has been absent from a lot of this campaign because he realises he has sold his people out. The only reason there is now some convenient agreement between the two parties of this unholy union is because Hone is at risk of losing his electorate. They have finally figured out, that with no Hone in Parliament the Mana Party is sunk and so is Dotcom’s strategy to buy political influence. The solution to try to get Hone back into parliament? Pick on the most vulnerable people and make a lot of noise about doing something for them. If Dotcom is really serious about helping the poor and hungry in this country maybe he should be diverting his criminally gained millions towards a solution for them. New Zealanders are a lot of things but we are not stupid and we don’t like hypocrites. The two biggest in the country at the moment are Kim Dotcom and Hone Harawira.
