Shots fired at Mana office – Harawira
Posted on July 1, 2014 by admin in Hone Harawira, Press Releases“I get threatened with violence and I get death threats, but when somebody starts taking shots at my office then that’s another matter altogether”, said MANA leader and Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira after shots were fired at one of his offices last week.
Harawira was speaking after a report was filed with the police about shots being fired through the front window of his office in Kaitaia last Thursday night.
“I’m glad my staff reported it straight away because people call in to my office at all times of the day and night to get help with a range of issues, and their safety, and the safety of my staff, is a huge concern to me”, said Harawira.
“Politics can be a tough game and you can get hardened against some of the nasty and mean-spirited attacks against you, but shooting into an office without knowing who might be inside is more than scary, it’s life-threatening and I hope the police catch the perpetrators soon”
“I’ve got a job to do and I’ve got some bloody good staff helping me to do it, and we won’t be put off by threats like this”

Post Author July 2, 2014 at 7:24 amI feel sad that it has come to this in NZ. Even if you don’t like a party and it’s policies there is no excuse for this kind of violence at all. Who ever did it is a coward.

Post Author July 3, 2014 at 4:03 amOn the news that two 22 calibre air rifle bullet holes were fired through the front window of MP Hone Harawira’s Kaitaia electoral office.
The ho hum reaction of the mainstream authorities to this act of extremism exposed a double standard by the New Zealand police and mainstream media.
We know that these 22 air rifles can kill. They are also largely unregulated.
When, a couple of Pakeha hunters complained to police that they had witnessed a Maori firing an unregistered firearm deep in the Urewa forest, it sparked a year long $multi million dollar police under cover investigation, and wide rangeing electronic surveillance of many Maori and some Pakeha groups, resulting in dawn raids and multiple arrests with dozens of charges laid against lots of people barely involved, most of these charges had no validity, didn’t stack up in court and had to be dropped. All this was whipped up with massive unsubstantiated media and government hysteria about “Armed Terrorists”, which resulted in two “Maori” doing 22 months in jail for a “crime” which most Pakeha convicted of a similar offence, would at worst get diversion and a fine. In the aftermath it was found out that the police carrying out this huge investigation and prosecution had committed illegal acts, but none were charged or even disciplined.
Compare all this to, someone probably Pakeha, firing an unregistered firearm through a Maori member of parliament’s window, in a main street. The media are not interested, it doesn’t even reach the local newspapers.
The police spend no money, or time investigating it. There will be no undercover investigation of local ‘white groups’, or political parties. There will be no wide ranging “fishing” surveillance warrants taken out. No one will be arrested, no charges will be brought, no one will go to prison. And its a dead certainty that the police will not be committing any illegal acts in their desperation to get a conviction against the offenders.
And we wonder why most of the men and women in prison are Maori.

Post Author July 3, 2014 at 8:26 amKeep up the good work and fight for fair play nationally Hone and all the Mana Party members. …. to assist maybe to support the Mana movement we need to fight fire with fire….history shows that when a select group of people have had things their way for a long period of time and the realisation that being exposed and a change is getting near….that group will up tempo and resort to whatever disrupting tactics they can in attempt to deter the threat pending. ..
This could be a scare tactic/false flag but either way hunt them down and bring them to justice. …after a good kicking of course. ..then let’s see how serious the legal system is..???

Have the Police aprehended these thugs?
I cant picture such brutality in an environment as fine as the far north of this country.
Were they from Feilding?

Post Author August 24, 2014 at 7:59 amArohamai people on this page. I dont think I made any sense with my last comments. In Te Arawa the campaining is full on. All I am is saying is Hone has thousands of follwers in Aotearoa and first and foremost he should be supported in a big way back in our own rohe Kaitaia. I had the privelege of working with the staff in Kaitaia in the last election. Nothing like being in the heart of where it all began … Without Hone Mana would not exist. To anyone who is in support of Mana travel back up home to Kaitaia and support our Bossman. Look after him He is one of a kind. He is our Leader and he needs all of us to suuport him back home
