
MANA AGM – Media Advisory
Posted on April 11, 2013 by admin in Media AdvisoryMedia are advised that the MANA AGM is being held from 3.30 pm on Saturday 13th April at Te Papa o Te Aroha Marae, 28 Mossop Road, Tokoroa. The AGM is scheduled to finish on Sunday 14th April at 1 pm. Topics covered during the AGM will include the 2013 local body elections, policy and discussions on a five-year strategy.
The AGM will follow on from Te Wheke o Te Ao’s “Feed the Kids” Symposium at the same venue, running from Saturday 13th April from 9.00 am to 3pm. The symposium is going to discuss the Private Members Bill submitted by MANA Leader and MP for Te Tai Tokerau, Hone Harawira, that has been drawn from the ballot box. The bill looks to provide free breakfasts and lunches for all children at decile one and two schools throughout the country. Guest speakers include Alan Johnson from CPAG, Shane Ngatai, Principal of Rhodes Street School, and Moko Morris from Te Waka Kai Ora. The symposium is also going to discuss community-driven initiatives that target the growing issue of child poverty.
