Kia ora to Te Whanau a Apanui and Elvis Teddy
Posted on July 26, 2012 by admin in Hone Harawira, Press Releases“Elvis is in the house … of the free” said MANA Leader Hone Harawira on hearing that all charges against Te Whanau a Apanui captain Elvis Teddy for stopping the Petrobras oil survey ship had been dismissed.
“Long may Elvis sing of his people’s deliverance from the tyranny of Deep Sea Oil and desperate governments. Government should never have brought the charges in the first place” said Harawira. “It’s a mark of their mean-spirited attitude to Maori sovereignty that they tried so hard to imprison a good man”.
“Kia ora to Whanau a Apanui and to all those who stood alongside them in opposing the government’s attempt to sell us out to Deep Sea Oil”.
