Win for the Wharfies – Lockout Notice Lifted and Board Member Resigns

Posted on March 30, 2012 by admin in John Minto, Press Releases

Mana Vice President John Minto congratulates the Auckland Port Workers on their victory today in having the port company agree to lift the lockout notice against unionized port workers.

“This is great news – all these workers want to do is get back to work and negotiate a collective employment agreement”.

“We congratulate them for standing firm in the face of the most vicious anti-union campaign New Zealand has seen for a long time”.

The Port company backdown follows today’s resignation of anti-union hard-man Rob Campbell from the Port Board.

“The rest of the Port Board should follow immediately along with CEO Tony Gibson”.

“These Board members and CEO have shown contempt for the workers and their rights. They have to go”.
